Your Protagonist
On Monday we had a presentation about people who are on the margins of society and struggling to get by. We were told that they faced two major problems. 1. Meeting basic needs; shelter, food, clothing. 2. Having a Broken Heart. As our speaker said, everybody has 'heart' damage, but hopefully we have enough safety nets to keep us safe when heartbreak happens. Major heartbreak has been caused by residential schools, which has contributed to the homeless problem in Winnipeg, which the speaker went into in some detail.
Question to answer about your protagonist. What challenges, if any, does your protagonist face in meeting 1. Basic Needs 2. Having a Broken Heart
My protagonist has a broken heart since she was waiting so long to meet her family again but her mom dose not recognize her, and she can hardly remember her language and because of that she can not talk to her best friend and to top it all off she can not stomach her food.
ReplyDeleteShe barely has a shelter to live in , her house is shabby and cold and barely has two rooms in it.

ReplyDeleteOlemaun still has her family and her tent in her village. Her mother makes her food and gives Olemaun her old clothes. Olemaun was taken away from her family for a long time and was taught things that were strange to her. When she came back to her village she was treated like an outsider. But over time she got used to that life style again. When the nuns came to get the kids, Olemaun had to go back to the school to protect her sisters.
ReplyDeletebroken heart bad living conditions can not play with her friends because she no longer fits in and she cant eat her families food anymore.
ReplyDeletemy protagonist is broken she was waiting to meet her family her mother does not remember that makes her sad. she cant remember much if her language because she has learned english for 2 years. and she cant to talk to her bestfriend in english because of her friends mom. and to put a cherry on top she cant stomach her food. her house isnt the best its cold and barely has two rooms
